NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
I was selected by Oxford Fashion Studio as the youngest featured designer to showcase an exclusive collection at New York Fashion Week (SS19), at 19 years old. Oxford fashion studio is a London based studio “presenting collections by independent designers and emerging global fashion brands to press and stockists on runway shows around the world. They receive easily upwards of 50,000 applications and only take 1-8 designers each year, so I am truly honored to have been invited to show with them. I wanted this collection to evoke a sense of joy and lightness, and experimented with using fabrics in atypical forms (such as the kimono jacket made out of leather, pictured below). I wanted to create a timeless piece. Each piece was personally designed and constructed carefully.
Spring Into Joy: SS19
This Gown was in discussion to be worn at the Grammy's, and featured in a number of publications. The beadwork was handcrafted and stitched together, and the gown hand stitched as well due to the intricate detailing
over 700 attendees, including prominent media figures from blogs, Television and publications like the Huffington post and vogue
A look at the process:
I begin my process by gathering inspiration and sources. I often get my inspiration from fabrics and then from the fabrics I begin to envision the possibilities of garment construction. From there comes sketching and then textile creation, and finally patterns for garments and sewing!
